Feature Photos: Lahser's Metzger Signs With Michigan

The senior will join the Wolverines first-ever women's varsity lacrosse team next fall.

Bloomfield Hills Lahser High School's Margaret Metzger recently signed a letter of intent to play women's lacrosse at the University of Michigan.

Metzger, a midfielder, was named all-OAA in her junior season and earned First-Team All State honors from the Michigan Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (MWLCA). She'll be part of the school's first varsity women's lacrosse team.

Metzger, who is in her second season as team captain this year, said she wanted to be a Wolverine since the school decided to elevate it's club lacrosse team to Division 1.

“I love Ann Arbor and I love Michigan athletics. I just had a good feeling all over about going there,” she told the Observer and Eccentric Newspapers, for a story on hometownlife.com.

The Wolverines will be full-fledged members of the highly competitive American Lacrosse Conference (ALC), which includes traditional Big Ten rivals such as Ohio State, Penn State and Northwestern, as well as Florida, Vanderbilt and Johns Hopkins.
