Lahser Boys Cross Country Takes League Championship

The Knights, led by seniors Michael Gawlik and Nick Graves, took the OAA White Jamboree at Oakland University and the league crown.

The Lahser High School boys varsity cross country team won the OAA White Division title this season following a victory in the division Jamboree #3 Championships at Oakland University over the weekend.

The team scored 36 points to win the meet, and had seven runners earn all-league honors for being in the top 15). They were: Michael Gawlik (2nd), Nick Graves (6th), Cooper Bellinson (8th), Bryce McClelland (9th), Max Threlkeld (11th), Zahir Allarakhia (12th), Kevin Allen (14th) and the 8th runner Ben Koehler finished 16th, Coach Nick Stration said.

This is the first league title since the 2007 season, and the 9th in the last 15 years.

"We had tremendous efforts from our top 8 varsity guys," Stration said. The Knights appear poised to improve on last season's 25th-place finish at the state meet.

"We are a deeper team this year, which has made us a better team than last year," he said of the 22 runners. "The goal is to be a top 10 team at the state meet"

The boys junior varsity team placed 3rd with 97 points, and were led by William Georges 9th place finish.
