Last Chance: Submit Your Mascot Design for Bloomfield Hills High School

Patch's 'Last Chance' feature lets you know about important upcoming deadlines.

Today is the last chance to submit designs for the new Bloomfield Hills High School mascot. Last month, students voted to name the mascot Black Hawks and chose silver, purple and black as the new colors to represent the school, slated to open in the fall of 2013.

The Bloomfield Hills Schools opened the selection for a mascot design to all students, community members and staff that submit original artwork for consideration as email Jpeg attachments to mascot@bloomfield.org.

The Andover and Lahser art departments will oversee a committee of judges who will whittle the number of entries to between three and five finalists. Students from fifth to 10th grades will vote through the district's internal Internet-based communication system during the week. The winning artist(s) will receive Spirit Wear incorporating their design and have a commemorative plaque outlining their contribution to the school's new identity at Bloomfield Hills High School.

The winning design will become the property of Bloomfield Hills Schools. The artist will waive all future rights to the art, including the right to reproduce the art. The winning designer will receive Spirit Wear that incorporates their design as well as a commemorative plaque that will be hung in the new high school.
