On the Agenda: BHSD to Discuss High School Transition and Budget Process

The Bloomfield Hills Schools Board of Education meets for the first time since the Nov. 6 election.

The Bloomfield Hills Schools Board of Education will meet twice tonight at the Doyle Center for Professional Development. The first study session meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. and will include a closed session and new board member orientation, following last Tuesday's election results.

The board will reconvene at 7 p.m. for its regular meeting and will start with student and staff recognition. The board will also hear a special presentation on Conant Elementary School by Principal Pam Balas during the Principal's Instructional Showcase, and is scheduled to discuss the guiding principles for developing the 2013-14 budget.

Other special reports include an update on the high school transition process and comments from Superintendent Rob Glass.

Also on the Agenda:

  • The board will consider bids for marching band uniforms for the new Bloomfield Hills High School.
  • The board will discuss a contract extension with Reliance Standard Insurance for term life insurance and long-term disability insurance.
  • The board will discuss approval of the Oakland Schools Finance and Human Resources Software Consortium Agreement.
  • The board will consider Sinking Fund Projects.
