Will Your School Win Experience with Red Wings Forward Justin Abdelkader?

Students from several area schools are participating in an AT&T-sponsored program that could bring Red Wings hockey forward Justin Abdelkader to their school to talk about the dangers of texting and driving as part of  the  “It Can Wait” campaign.

Members of the winning school’s hockey team will also be able to have one practice at Joe Louis Arena, where they will get tips and tricks from Abdelkader.

To be eligible to win, students from 53 targeted schools must to take the pledge not to text and drive and get as many of their friends, family and neighbors to take the pledge on behalf of their school. Students can go back and take the pledge once a day through the course of the promotion. The school with the most pledges wins.

The contest ends Monday, and the winning school will be selected March 12.
