How did your business come to be?

I've loved photography all my life. In 2010 I traveled to China with my two children (ages 9 and 11 at the time) and adopted a 3 year old little girl. While in China, I picked up my camera again after a long absence and found that blogging our adoption journey was very meaningful: www.MustLiveALifeLessOrdinary.com. I was reunited with my first love (photography) and united with my youngest daughter at the same time. I haven't been able to put my camera down since. Now I use my camera to connect to causes that are meaningful to me and to bring awareness to anti-bullying, adoption, and various charities around Metro Detroit.

Why did you choose the area you did?

I live and work in downtown Birmingham and shoot portraits all over Metro Detroit. I just built a brand new photography studio as an addition to my home. The studio has a private entrance.
