5 Things About the Bloomfield Hills Black Hawks Football Season Opener

Tonight's matchup against the new Bloomfield Hills Schools should be both historic and memorable. Here's what you need to know.


Tonight marks a milestone in the history of the new Bloomfield Hills High School as the Black Hawks varsity football team takes the field for the first time at 7 p.m. against Birmingham Groves. If that's not enough incentive, fans voten in mass this week to ensure the matchup will be the first featured Meijer Game of the Week on WXYZ Channel 7 this season.

But if watching highlights isn't nearly good enough for you and you decide to be there to cheer the Black Hawks on, there's some changes you need to know about. 

If You Go

  • Dauch Field will now have two entrances: one designated for family and general admission to serve the general public and students accompanied by an adult; one for a “student express line” that will serve Bloomfield Hills Schools students and students from the opposing school.  
  • Students must show valid school ID unless accompanied by an adult. Only students from Bloomfield Hills Schools and the opposing team will be allowed admission, and students from other schools may only be admitted with an adult.
  • No outside food or beverages will be allowed, and fans will be asked to discard any  brought with them at the gate. Students with backpacks, bags, purses, etc. will be subject to search.
  • Ticket prices are $5 per person (Senior citizens and children under 5 are free).
