Lahser Boys Climb Over Maples Into Second Place

The Knights travel well and improve to 3-2, but face tough league test this week.

The Lahser Knights defeated Birmingham Seaholm 51-33 Friday night and won their second consecutive road contest in the OAA Blue. The Knights (10-3, 3-2) kept momentum going from a 77-50 win at Berkley on Tuesday and jumped off to a 16-7 lead in the first quarter. They led 32-13 at halftime, taking full advantage of Paris Bass' absence, miprepzone.com reported.

Seaholm's senior star forward was suspended shortly before the contest, and further details were unavailable. Lahser's Yante Maten scored 16 points and blocked five shots. Junior Joey Nagridge scored 11 points to lead Seaholm (9-4, 2-3).

The win, coupled with Harrison's overtime loss to Berkley Friday night means the Knights are tied with the Hawks for second-place in the league. View a video of the game and see it featured on the State Champs show Sunday morning at 11:30 a.m. on channel CW 50.

The Knights return home for a rematch Thursday with Lake Orion, which is unbeaten in league play and topped the Knights by 20 points just last week.

“One more loss and we’re out of contention, so we’re going to fight for it,” Lahser Head Coach Duane Graves told miprepzone.com.

Baron Boys
