Watch Birmingham's Olympic Hopefuls Skate This Weekend

Birmingham figure-skaters Daniel Easton and Alexandra Aldridge will be among the teams competing for coveted spots in the Sochi Winter Olympics during final tryouts in downtown Boston this weekend. 

The current world junior bronze medalists and United States junior ice dance champions are the youngest pair competing at nationals. The top three finishers will get to compete in next month's Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia. The fourth and fifth-place teams will compete in the Four Continents competition in Taiwan later this month.

Eaton is a sophomore at Oakland Community College's Auburn Hills campus, where is studying for a career in health care, a news release stated. 

Aldridge is a recent graduate of Seaholm High School. 

The final Free Dance competition will be broadcast live from at TD Garden in downtown Boston at 3 p.m. Saturday on NBC. Saturday's broadcast should also include the pairs free skate championship and the ladies free skate championship, according to the official schedule.
