Baldwin Public Library's Summer Reading Wraps with Tacos

The annual program, sponsored with suppor of the Friends of the Baldwin Public Library, ended Thursday.

Editor's Note: In November 2011, Bloomfield Hills residents narrowly passed a 0.39-mill levy to fund a three-year contract with the Baldwin Public Library, giving them a library to call their own after several years and two previous millage attempts.

More than 100 teens participated in the Baldwin Public Library's Summer Reading Program, which concluded Thursday. Jacques’ Tacos owner James
Mastrangel hosted a taco party and parked his food truck on Merrill Street.

"Teens ordered their lunch from the truck’s window, and then socialized with each other as they enjoyed their beef, chicken, and pork tacos, accompanied by chips, salsa, and water," staff wrote to Bloomfield-Bloomfield Hills Patch.
