Treasures Abound at Bowers Farm Gazebo Sale

Friends of the Bowers Farm and the Friends of Preservation Bloomfield raise funds to keep area's history intact.

  There's much to do over the weekend in and around the Bloomfield area. And since it's tough to always plan ahead, Patch is here to help. Today's pick: "Treasure" sale at the Bowers Farm Where: Bowers School Farm (1219 Square Lake Rd.) When: 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday Why go: The Friends of Bowers Farm and the Friends of Preservation Bloomfield are joining together for a barn/gazebo sale for the third straight year. Proceeds will benefit the Bowers School Farm and Barton Farmhouse restoration project. Antiques, furniture, ceramics and other collectibles are just some of the 'treasures' participants will get to choose from, rain or shine. Donations to the sale will be accepted at the farm from 3-5 p.m. today.

'Treasure' Hunters Do Their Part for Historic Preservation

Friends of the Bowers Farm and the Friends of Preservation Bloomfield raise funds to keep area's history intact.

Visitors to the Bowers Farm usually come away with an appreciation of history, but on Saturday they could literally walk away with it. For the second straight year, the Friends of Bowers Farm and the Friends of Preservation Bloomfield joined together for a barn and gazebo sale. Antiques, furniture, collectibles and household odds-and-ends were available from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for separate sales that benefit both the Bowers School Farm and the Barton Farmhouse restoration project.  Traffic appeared steady throughout the day, which was more than organizers could say last year.
