On the article Troy Athens Football Can’t Keep Up With Lake Orion

ReplyCindy - The Lake Orion and Harrison game will be on the Dragons home field at 7:00 p.m. All the OAA crossover games will be played at the teams from OAA Red's home field.
Also, Troy Athens head coach thought his team would be facing Farmington next week, but his team will actually be facing Southfield. Farmington and Southfield have identical records overall and in conference, but a third tiebreaker put the Blue Jays in third place and Farmington in fourth place headed into the crossover week.

On the article Seaholm Football Home Opener Spoiled By Lahser

ReplyCoach was optimistic after the loss. Even though the Maples offense really struggled, the game was really close for three quarters. One of the things they will need to work on is running the ball more consistently. Seaholm didn't have any success on the ground Friday and that really hurt them as the game went on.

ReplyIt's unfortunately something that happens at all levels of football. It happened last night in the New York Giants and Chicago Bears preseason game. One of the Giants corners blew out his ACL going for a sack when his teammate hit his leg.
Here's hoping Alex has a speedy recovery and that he can come back even stronger his senior season.

Steve - Thanks for the comment. It certainly wasn't meant as a slight. The Vikings have a long history in the area. Their home field is North Farmington though and Bellamy wants a youth program based at West Bloomfield High School where the kids interact with his players a bit more.
In general though he absolutely wants to keep all athletes that grow up in West Bloomfield in West Bloomfield, regardless of where they play youth football.

Scott - Dees is the more mobile of the two, but Byrd has the strength to run defenders over.
But I think West Bloomfield is going to rely more on the talent they have at running back to move the ball in the run game than their quarterbacks. Bellamy wants to run a more pro-style offense with some spread looks, so I think the competition could come down to who has a better feel for the system than anything else.

ReplyAlan, thanks! The tag at home was a great play, but so was the game in general. Groves and Seaholm played two games that were fun to watch this season. The teams could potentially play in the district round and that would be a exciting to see.
