Brazen Thieves Strike Bloomfield Township Dollar Tree

A suspect told store employees he was going to take what he wanted without paying, police said.

Investigators with the Bloomfield Township Police Department need the public's help to identify a man and a women suspected of stealing multiple items from a Dollar Tree store on the Township's north side late last month.

The department this week released the surveillance video images of the pair, who brazenly took items from the Dollar Tree at 1571 Opdyke Rd. during the day on Aug. 27. Reports said the couple entered the store together, and that employees noticed the man stuck several items underneath his coat.

When they approached the checkout counter, an employee asked if the man was going to pay for the items in his coat, reports said. He said he did not have to pay for anything, and that he was going to take what he wanted.

They fled with an undisclosed amount of merchandise.

Further details were not immediately available. Anyone that can identify either suspect is asked to contact the Bloomfield Township Police Department at 248-433-7755.
