Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Truck on Telegraph Road in Bloomfield Township

Police are looking for any witnesses to the crash that occurred at about 9 p.m.



A pedestrian was struck and killed by a large truck travelling southbound on Telegraph Road near Square Lake Road in Bloomfield Township Thursday night, police said. 

Further details about the person's identity were not released by police Friday morning pending notification of family members. 

Officers with the Bloomfield Township Police Department responded to a call about the crash shortly before 9 p.m. and got the pedestrian medical attention. However, the victim was pronounced dead on arrival at a local hospital, a news release stated. 

The initial investigation showed the truck was headed south on Telegraph when it struck the pedestrian in the roadway just north of Bataan Drive, Sgt. Craig Shackleford said. The truck driver was not injured. 

The crash remains under investigation by members of the Southeast Oakland County Crash Investigation Team (SOCCIT) and Bloomfield Township's Traffic Investigations Unit. Anyone that witnessed the crash or has any information is asked to call the department at 248-433-7749.
