Police Investigate Bloomfield Hills High School Employee in Alleged Drug Incident

No charges have been filed and the district indicated it is cooperating fully with the ongoing police investigation.

Officers with the Bloomfield Township Police Department are investigating an employee at Bloomfield Hills High School for an incident last week involving suspected illegal drugs.

The investigation into the Oct. 18 incident is open and ongoing, and the department is not willing to release more details at this time, Sgt. Tim Abbo said Thursday.

Lab tests on the substance seized during the incident are pending.

The incident was mentioned on various forms of social media by students, but district spokeswoman Shira Good cautioned some information has been inaccurate.

Good would not identify the employee or any further details about the incident Thursday. She said it is not common practice to discuss district personnel matters while there is an ongoing investigation.

She said the employee is not currently allowed in the building and will not return until the investigation is complete.

“Because this is still open, I can’t talke about the individual in particular," she said. "Administration and other district staff acted very quickly and responsibly, and we’ve all taken it very seriously.”
